Message from The Organizers

As the symposium organizers, we are very pleased to invite you to the 2018 International Symposium on Transport Phenomena and Applications (STPA) to be held at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, Yunlin, Taiwan on November 9-10, 2018. This year the STPA will be going hand-in-hand with the 2018 Taiwan/Japan/Korea joint meeting on Chemical Engineering. Many renowned scholars from Japan, Korea and Singapore have been invited to participate this symposium. All sections will be conducted in English.

The objective of this symposium is to provide a forum to exchange the most advanced scientific knowledge of researches in transport phenomena and separation technology, and to inspire new efforts to expand the frontiers of these researches and development. In addition, due to increasing applications of micro/nanofluidic chips in the analysis of chemical and biological samples, the theme of this year STPA will focus on micro/nanofluidic devices and their applications. Promoting the next-generation micro/nanofluidics applications relies on a more detailed understanding of the transport of ions, fluids, and particles in confined spaces at microscale and even nanoscale. Transport Phenomena, a main important core subject in Chemical Engineering, provide the fundamental knowledges for researchers working on the field of microfluidics and nanofluidics.

Since the first launch in 1979, the STPA has developed into a significant annual event in Taiwan for people in the field of transport phenomena and separation technology. We are extremely grateful for the main previous organizers, Professor Wei-Ming Lu, Duu-Jong Lee, and Kuo-Lun Tung from National Taiwan University, Professor Kuo-Jen Hwang from Tamkang University and Professor Tu Lee from National Central University, and your contributions as participants in the past. Your participation and contribution make the STPA keep high quality, which is extending Transport Phenomena to the more widespread fields.

Please come join us and experience the Taiwanese culture. We are looking forward to seeing you at the 2018 International Symposium on Transport Phenomena and Applications in National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, Taiwan on November 9-10, 2018! We hope all of you will enjoy the symposium and your stay in Yunlin.

With Warmest Regards,

Professor Bo-Tau Liu (National Yunlin University of Science and Technology)

Professor Tzung-Han Chou (National Yunlin University of Science and Technology)

Professor Li-Hsien Yeh (National Taiwan University of Science and Technology)
